Gingerbread
Ingredients
250g butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup golden syrup
3 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoons bi-carb soda
1 small cup boiling water
3 cups plain flour
Method
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, then syrup.
Add milk and all dry ingredients sifted together. Add soda in boiling water.
Bake in two loaf tins or one large slab tin in moderate oven for approximately 40 minutes.
